Dubai: Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has been elected President of the UAE National Olympic Committee (NOC) during its Ordinary General Assembly Meeting in Dubai.
Praising the legacy of his predecessor, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Mansoor highlighted the UAE’s Olympic achievements, including its first gold medal in 2004 and the successful hosting of major sporting events.
“Sustaining this success requires teamwork from all stakeholders to support our athletes and maintain the UAE’s global sporting standing,” he said.
Sheikh Mansoor’s election, following NOC regulations, marks the start of the 2024—2028 Olympic term. The meeting was attended by key officials, including Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, and Faris Al Mutawa, NOC Secretary General.
